Is There a God? When Famous Atheists Change Their Minds

Is there a God?
It’s interesting how some people look at the world around them, and come to the conclusion that none of it happens by accident, and others come to the conclusion that all of it did. Even more interesting are the people who start thinking one thing, argue vociferously for it but then change their minds and argue just as ferociously against it. It’s one thing to form an opinion on the existence of God, but entirely another to publicly reverse everything to that point in life and go in the opposite direction, considering the criticism the often experience.
When Famous Atheists change their mind
One such person is Antony Flew. Flew was one of the most famous atheists for a number decades, claiming that there was no life after death, that evil isn’t caused by free will, and that God is a figment of our imagination. He became famous through a series of debates and books, but late in his career, Flew became convinced that actually, God does exist. He was roundly criticized and attacked by former friends and peers, it was even claimed by an article in the New York Times that this happened because his mental capacity had declined. He didn’t falter though, stating in an interview with Gary Habermas in 2004 that the argument of intelligent design had developed to a point where it had convinced him that God did exist. He even published a book about how he changed his mind.
Intelligent Design
Intelligent design simply looks at the scientific proof which demonstrates that the world has an intelligent designer behind it, but many don’t actually consider it science. Anything which can convince one of the world’s leading atheists to change his mind and believe in God, should at the very least be mentioned in a discussion on the question "is there a god".
Is There a God?
Most people have an opinion when asked “Is there a God?”. Either he can be known by humankind, he can’t, or he doesn’t exist at all. You may still be searching for more evidence to prove the existence of God. Either way, sifting through the many arguments and opinions out there takes a a lot of time and effort.
Does God Exist?
So if we assume that the answer to the question "does God exist" is yes for a second, the next thing to ask is can we know God? Either God is intelligent and personal, or an unknowable force. Our ex-atheist, Antony Flew, did not think that God could be known. But imagine if you could know God for a second. What would it do to the way you lived your life? What would you ask him? How would you approach a being capable of creating the universe?
How Can I Know God?
If God can be known, it makes sense that God might leave his signature on all that he made. After all, artists sign their masterpieces, why not God?
